The PCS Model – Research Validated
The PCS assessment format and question set have evolved over 20-years of practical use.
PCS supports the improvement of team performance based on a wealth of research undertaken by some of the foremost academics in psychology and organisational development.
The link between individual’s motivations and team performance is both intuitive and evidence based.

PCS Academic Validation
In September 2020, we undertook a piece of research with the Impact Lab (a collaboration between the University of Exeter, the University of Plymouth, the Met Office and other Southwest research organisations) to investigate the statistical validity of our current PCS Pro question-set. The project concluded that the current 54 questions have a high correlation to the segments that they’re measuring and when overlaid with decades of team performance research, PCS provides a good assessment of the climate within a team or organisation.
In keeping with our business principals of responsiveness and innovation, we’re currently exploring, with our research partners, opportunities to tune the question-set, how we gather data and how it is interpreted in PCS Pro and PCS Lite.
If you would like to discuss any aspect of the validity of our system or the research that underpins our approach to measuring climate, please contact us using the contact button below.
Ongoing Research
We are constantly looking to enhance our product and the field of culture and organisational climate research.
We have a number of pieces of live research and work with a variety of organisations with
the aim of the continuous improvement of PCS.
